Summary of the Case: On Friday, July 21, The Alarm Phone was alerted to 8 boats. 7 boats were rescued to Spain and 1 was intercepted and brought back to Morocco.

At 6.43 CEST, a boat with 9 people informed the Alarm Phone of their position. The shift team remained in contact with the boat for two hours. At 8.48, a contact person confirmed that the boat had been rescued to Spain.

At 7.25 CEST, a contact person informed The Alarm Phone about a boat of 10 people (including 2 women). The boat sent their position but was difficult to reach although the shift team tried. At 10.15, a contact alerted The Alarm Phone that the boat had been rescued by Salvamento Maritimo.

At 8.30 CEST, we were alerted to a boat of 9 people (including 1 pregnant woman). The boat kept in touch with the shift team for several hours. At 14.26, the boat informed the shift team that Salvamento Maritimo was in the area and they were going to be rescued. The Alarm Phone was unable to receive further confirmation.

Four other boats were also rescued to Spain: one with 13 people, including one sick person, and another with 12 people. The first boat contacted The Alarm Phone at 9.29, and then at 9.54 confirmed they had been rescued (Last Position: 35.817448, -5.997125). At 9.40, a contact person alerted the shift team to another boat, and at 14.13, the contact person confirmed this boat had also been rescued to Spain (Last Position: 35.815134, -6.000002). At 11.47 CET, a contact person alerted The Alarm Phone to a boat of 11 people that had left Morocco. The shift team maintained contact with the ship for several hours and received confirmation that they had been rescued to Spain at 14.45 (Last Position: 35.839360, -5.907394). Finally, a boat with 9 people (including 2 women, and one pregnant woman) contacted the shift team at 12.10. The boat maintained contact with The Alarm Phone until 13.52 when they confirmed they had been rescued by the Salvamento Maritimo. (Last Position: 35.841546, -5.982608)

At 12.10, a contact person alerted The Alarm Phone about a boat of 7 people that had left Morocco early in the morning. The shift team attempted to contact the boat but the phone did not work well. The contact person informed the shift team that the travellers were tired and sick. The Alarm Phone informed Salvamento Maritimo about the case, and the shift team maintained contact with the contact person and Salvamento Maritimo for several hours. At 17.29, the shift team was able to make contact with one of the travellers, who said their boat had been intercepted by the Marine Royale and the boat was taken back to Morocco.
