Summary of the Case: On April 3rd, the Alarm Phone was alerted to 3 different cases in the Aegean Sea. In two cases the travelers were rescued to Greece and in one case the travelers were returned to Turkey by the Turkish Coast Guard.

In the first case, the shift team received an alert at 5.13am CEST about a group of 32 travelers who were stranded on the small island of Nera near Agathonisi. The shift team was not able to make direct contact with the boat at first, but contacted the Greek Coast Guard, who confirmed at 9.48am CEST the rescue of the travelers and their transfer first to Agathonisi and then later to Kos.

In the second case, the shift team was alerted to a group of 3 men who had tried to reach Kalymnos island on jet skis. The shift team lost contact with them, but at 9.40pm CEST alerted the Turkish Coast Guard, and their rescue was confirmed.

In the third case, the shift team was alerted at 9pm CEST about a speedboat of 19 travellers (including 8 children and 4 women) which had left the coast of Turkey. The shift team informed the Greek Coast Guard of the situation and the latest position. The Greek Coast Guard confirmed that the boat had been rescued at 11.15pm CEST.
